Autumn Winds

"A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made. The acoustics of this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed, are as crisp as autumn air."

- Eric Sloane

Funny thing is...a few days ago I did in fact walk along the edge of a lake...a spot which happens to be a welcomed contender in my list of favorites. Amidst a losing an extremely close friend...it seemed nothing could bring me down out there. The air was finally cool and crisp and each fond memory of Fall came flooding back. Listed are the following things that make Autumn my favorite time of the year:

- Cool, crisp morning air
- The smell of the air
- Candy Corn...all kinds
- Pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla spice candles from Bath & Body Works
- The colors
- The sky
- Hooded sweatshirts
- Long sleeves with shorts
- Road trips with the windows down and heat on
- Thanksgiving, Halloween, & Christmas
- Mine and my Dad's birthdays
- The "homey" feeling in the air
- TV Shows start back
- Cooking warm meals
- Starbucks hang out nights
- Pick up football and basketball games with friends
- Campfires
- Pumpkin carving
- Clarity
- Sleeping with the windows open at night
- Fall Festivals/County Fairs
- Pumpkin patches
- Hay rides
- Banana Bread
- Hot chocolate and blankets
- High school/college football
- Scarves/beanies
- Concerts
- 13 Night of Halloween (thanks Lynds)
- Hocus Pocus
- Puppy chow
- Family time

I could go on and on about Autumn...literally walking outside or opening my window elates me during this time...

At the lake this weekend, sitting on the dock looking out at the water at sunset while everyone cleaned up after being on the water all day...a quote from A Walk to Remember ran through my mind:

It's like the wind. I can't... see it, but I can feel it....

XoXo Ya Digg?! ;)
